After the video of Casey bodyslamming Richard was released, people from all over the world shared messages of support for Casey on message boards and Facebook pages, making him something of a hero on the internet. Like most of the rest of the world, Dr. Susan Lipkins, a bullying expert, sided with Casey.

In response to the defense Richard madethat he has also been bullied for yearsLipkins said that victims often become the bullies and get stuck in a victim-bully cycle.
