Quentin Tarantino has a certain signature with his films, and Jamie Foxx says you should expect no less from Django Unchained. The 43-year-old Oscar winner landed the role of the titular character, a freed slave who.
The 43-year-old Oscar winner landed the role of the titular character, a freed slave who sets off on a mission to rescue his lady love Broomhilda from a sadistic owner with the help of a German bounty hunter. Tarantino is calling it a southern film, according to Time.
Leonardo DiCaprio has signed on as that evil plantation runner Calvin Candie, and Samuel L. Jackson is expected to play his right-hand man, Stephen. Christoph Waltz is reuniting with his &034;Inglourious Basterds&034; director to play the bounty hunter, reports Variety, while Kerry Washington, who starred opposite Foxx in &034;Ray,&034; is reportedly one of the contenders to portray Broomhilda.
Foxx told CNN at the premiere of Horrible Bosses last week that this is a story that needs to see the light of a movie theater.

Billionaire George Soros, a longtime backer of progressive causes, suggested that members of the Tea Party movement are being “used and deceived” during an appearance on CNN's “Fareed Zakaria GPS” over the weekend.
Asked to share his take on the coalition of conservative activists, Soros signaled his belief that “people in the Tea Party are very decent people, hard-working.” He added, however, that supporters of the movement “have been hit by a force” from a place which “they can't fully understand.” Here's what Soros went on to say:
During the appearance, Soros also weighed in on the job performance of President Barack Obama, particularly as it relates to his administration's handling of the economy.
Soros predicted that Republicans will “pursue a very strong effort to cut services by refusing to have any tax increases.” He suggested, however, that the spending slashing mission would be executed in a way “more directed at cutting services and achieving the ideological purposes” of the GOP than actually giving the economy a boost. Soros said, “I think this will have a negative effect on the economy.”

The Shirley Sherrod saga continues, with this round being fought on the unlikely ground of CNN. Andrew Breitbart was a guest on an unusually spirited episode of John King, USA tonight, standing his ground that the story is the NAACP and.
In what was probably the most contentious discussion in the history of the show, John King took a stab at debating Andrew Breitbart and holding him accountable for releasing the tape that got Sherrod fired. Breitbart extensively detailed why he believes the story is exclusively about the NAACP and not about Sherrod&8217;s case specifically: &8220;this tape is about the NAACP. It&8217;s raison d&8217;etre is about non-discrimination. And when Shirley Sherrod is talking there, in which she expresses a discriminatory attitude towards white people, the audience responds with applause and the NAACP agrees with me. And it rebuked her and the audience.&8221; He also says there are more tapes coming up, with even more racism, and that despite the NAACP agreeing with Breitbart on this point, the Sherrod case in the tip of the iceberg.
King challenged Breitbart on the point that the Sherrod tape was taken out of context, and that it is, in large part, Breitbart&8217;s fault for releasing the tape that she lost her job. &8220;I did not ask for Shirley Sherrod to be fired,&8221; he repeated several times, &8220;I did not fire her.&8221; He also responded that he thought &8220;she should have the right to defend herself,&8221; but whenever King brought up the fact that the tape was posted on his website, Breitbart repeated, &8220;This is not about Shirley Sherrod.&8221;
At another point when King questioned Breitbart&8217;s methods, Breitbart turned on him and CNN, skeptical of whether the fact that the story Sherrod tells happened two decades before, as has been affirmed:
