With another &8220;incident&8221; involving Bryce Harper hitting the airways, and another round of media members using no originality or doing any analysis and immediately judging Harper based on his &8220;make-up,&8221; I thought i&8217;d comment. This relates to a benches-clearing incident at West Virginia on 4/26/11.

Here&8217;s two video links of the latest incident. One from the RF stands, another from behind the plate (thanks to Zuckerman&8217;s natsinsider site and csnwashington.com). Watch very closely the first video; the strikeout occurs, Harper stands in place dropping his equipment, and while showing no reaction, no emotion and saying nothing the plate umpire advances towards the opposing pitcher, takes off his mask, and starts to tell him (the opposing pitcher) to back off. Only after all this happens does Harper hear some &8220;magic words&8221; and react. By which time both benches were starting to run towards each other. There was no brawl, just some general milling around.

Now you tell me: how is that POSSIBLY Harper&8217;s inciting anything? Yes, perhaps it started with Harper&8217;s solo shot in the first, with him and the catcher clearly trading words. Again; who is to say who said what to whom first? For all we know Harper may have been talking trash, and for all we know the catcher may have said something along the lines of, &8220;lucky hit you punkss&8221; to Harper as he crossed the plate.

If you looked quickly at the beginning of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference semifinals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, you'd probably recognize the attempted “whiteout” going on. As teams often do, Heat fans were either.

As teams often do, Heat fans were either encouraged to wear white to American Airlines Center or they were given white T-shirts upon arrival.

Apparently, the fans aren&39;t the only ones in on the action — the actual seats were, too.

It&39;s a solid tactic when you think about it. Seats draped in white blend in pretty well when everyone else is wearing white, too. However, when cameras zoomed in, multiple shots showed empty seats draped in white sheets throughout the arena as the first quarter began. No empty seats were more obvious than those in the first row right next to the benches.
